Naturally, I have this toxic habit of trying to be the CEO of my own future. It usually starts at roughly 3:00 AM on a Tuesday, when the rest of Chicago is sleeping, and my brain decides it’s the perfect time to solve every potential crisis for the next decade. Last month, this hit me hard. I was sitting at my kitchen table, surrounded by a chaotic mess of 2024 Schedule C tax forms, a commercial lease renewal I wasn't sure I should sign, and a notebook filled with frantic calculations about market volatility. I had decided I needed to have it all figured out. Now. Forget tomorrow; I wanted a perfect 5-year strategic plan with zero margin for error. I was obsessively calculating variables - inflation rates, my cholesterol levels, the housing market - trying to predict whether I was "fulfilling my calling." I felt paralyzed, like a truck driver staring at a map where every road is blocked. I prayed for a "Satellite View" of my life. I asked God, "Show me the destination! Show me the endgame!" but was met with silence. In the logistics world, we call this a "visibility gap," and it was driving me insane.
